2020 Another special reversible rug, designed and manufactured by South African designer Nawaaz Saldulker, in 2020, cotton with wildlife motifs in isolation, dimensions c. 156 cm x 123 cm. The Ellen Macarthur Foundation reports that if this trend continues, over 150 million tonnes of clothing waste will clog landfills by 2050. This rug is handwoven with discarded t-shirts, which is used as its raw material. A once-off handmade piece. The carpet is part of a small collection from a range, called '8 Acts Of Animal Confinement' made during quarantine in Austria while waiting for Covid-19 to subside. It was also part of D.A.C.(Designers Against Coronavirus) online exhibition curated by CaroselloLab, with concept and direction by Enrico Caputo and others.
